This quirky country pub far exceeded our expectations. What a wonderful location. The accommodation is very, very comfortable, the food is wonderful as is the quirky bar and all that adorn the walls throughout the pub. The staff are extremely helpful and pointed out special places to visit. This pub is the best kept secret in the whole of the south island. We are certainly returning.
Room was a massive size, room service, cleanliness was perfect. Staff were friendly. Bed was comfy. Great value for money. Really enjoyed/appreciated the small details like the cereal and bottled water.
Very nicely furnished and comfortable room. Simple breakfast ingredients provided in room each day (2 each of small boxes of cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt pottles), along with the standard tea/coffee/milk.
Great setting, fun decor with that ye olde pub feel, but still modern amenities. Really appreciated them checking the room and offering to mail our phone charger that we left in the wall socket.
I would absolutely recommend this accommodation to anyone. Fabulous place, wonderful location and scenery and the food excellent. Have to say the staff were especially wonderful. Friendly and very helpful. We had a great stay.
Great one night stays before & after Abel Tasman walk. Lovely English feel to decor. Good pub food & no late noise. Spa bath was unexpected & very welcome.
Spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed, nice view over outdoor bar area and water inlet, appearance of building was like old English pub.
The continental breakfast each morning was very welcome as was the cookie every day. Our room felt very homely and not your basic motel room. Location was very good.
The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The cost included a simple breakfast which was very nice, especially given the fairly low cost. We arrived late and so could not have a dinner in the lovely downstairs pub/restaurant which has a great atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful, accommodating our late arrival after the Picton ferry arrived late.
